Small Guide to Buy Television

Wonder what makes a television best??? Price? Size? Brightness? Smartness? Sound? Operating system? Connectivity? Brand? The list can go on and on and it will only make your head spin and at the end, of course, you will buy the TV but heavy on your pocket.

Why Do You Want To Buy It In The First Place??

Have you got some extra money? Or want to buy it just because your neighbor has it? Televisions are not your assets they are your liabilities. Yes of course it brings happiness but at what cost, you need to decide it. It’s good to spend some family time watching a movie or a football match with friends but to distract a child just to do your work is a big NO. The first and the foremost thing that you should decide is your budget, doesn’t matter you have a 4 figure salary or 7 figure salary. Do not put in extra money just to have that extra inch on your television or to have 1 more USB port!!!

43=50=55!!!

Whether it is 43 or 50 or 55 your happiness will remain more or less the same. If 43 inches is enough as per your viewing distance then why do you need to buy 50-inch television!! Just because if you are getting 7 inches more just by spending Rs.5000 more!! Well, you can get a nice soundbar for 5000 bucks which will enhance your cinematic experience. Not speaking against bigger televisions but just buy television according to your viewing distance. Getting greedy is the basic nature of animals. We can be humans by controlling it!!! Just as you get greedy just remember you are short of money, everybody is, ALWAYS!!!

Android or Basic OS??

How much Android you are to going to use on your television?? Hmm?? Are you going to use your Instagram, Facebook,  ”Tinder” etc. on your television?? I don’t think so. For a fact, android TVs tend to get slower as time passes by. If you want to buy a smart television just consider how many OTT platforms does it support.

If it has Netflix, Hotstar, amazon prime video, youtube, and a few more of your choices, you are good to go. In the end 90% of the time you are going to just stream online. A branded TV with its own operating system with OTT platforms built-in will be better than a Chinese model with the latest android and some extra inches.

Remember- BRIGHTNESS is the most important specification.

There is a lot of specifications to consider, isn’t it?? But in the end, you have to watch the television with your precious eyes and have a soothing feel. Some companies tend to play with brightness, some of them do not even disclose it. Before buying a television go to a multi television store and check out the brightness of different brands. DO NOT GO by the numbers they say, but check out the brightness with your own eyes.

Some brands provide brightness levels of 400 nits in their premium TVs but in reality, it is not even equal to 250 nits. Premium Brands (LG, Samsung, Sony) will not claim 400-500 nits of brightness but still, their brightness is at par compared to cheaper brands providing 400 nits of brightness.

AFTER-SALES

Also do give attention to after-sales service of the company. There are many brands that focus just on selling their products and forget about their customers once they have sold them to them. It’s irritating if you can’t get your faults rectified.

As a new phone is so charming and after 3 months you just throw them around same is the thing with television also. When it’s new you will set it up every day after few days you will look at it as a normal TV. Yes, you will forget about its price too!!!. OH no, but you bought it for a hefty price, you need to watch it more!!!!
