Wall clocks
How many times a day do you raise your eyes to the wall to check the time? It is an automatic gesture, which has now become part of our daily life, above all thanks to the presence of wall clocks, an inevitable presence in any home. The clocks are, in fact, an essential furnishing accessory within the home. Practical, economical, and not bulky, they can be placed in any room, immediately giving character and personality to the environment.
Very important, when choosing a wall clock is to find the right one for each room in the house among the many proposals on the market. Classic, modern, small, large, design or vintage, in fact, on the market you can find wall clocks for all style, space, and budget needs.
More than any other piece of furniture, wall clocks cannot ignore their practical function which is to indicate the exact time, marking the time of our days. The main purpose of a clock, in fact, is to mark the time by helping us organize our daily commitments and if it fails in this fundamental function, it turns into a very common piece of furniture, devoid of any use.
Wall clocks, however, as furnishing accessories also have another purely aesthetic function, as, like a beautiful painting, they can be used to enhance an environment, giving new life to a wall. bare and devoid of movement. For this reason, wall clocks must have a sophisticated design and must match the rest of the furniture in the room in which they are installed, in order not to risk being out of place and inadequate.

Characteristics of Wall Clocks
Wall clocks are easily recognizable as they have specific characteristics related to their location. Clocks of this type must be placed on a wall and consequently must meet certain requirements. First of all, the wall clocks do not have a support base but are equipped with one or more hooks for nails, necessary to be able to hang them easily on the wall.
They can have different shapes and sizes, but in all cases, the dial and numbers must be large enough to be visible even from a considerable distance. What good would a wall clock be if you couldn’t see the time once it was posted on the wall?
Furthermore, this particular type of clock must be made with light materials so as not to be too heavy and not to risk falling once hung on the wall. Finally, the wall clocks are powered by batteries and therefore digital, since given their particular location they cannot be connected to an electrical outlet.
As for the construction materials, we can mention glass, wrought iron if you are a lover of retro, or if you want to choose more particular and original models, you just have to buy the new adhesive watches, customizable and used especially in the bedroom of the most little ones. You can also find them colored, such as red, green, or white.
Where to place the Wall Clocks
Wall clocks, as we said above, can be placed in all rooms of the house, from the kitchen to the living room, up to the bedroom and bathroom. It is useful, functional, and beautiful to look at, they are precious allies when you want to enhance an environment with simplicity and essentiality.
For each room, of course, there is a specific type of wall clock, for example, there are kitchen clocks, bedroom clocks, and those for the living area. There are wall clocks of all sizes (giants), such as those of Thun and therefore there are no space limitations, but, in general, this type of clock is particularly suitable for small rooms, as they do not clutter and do not take up space.
Wall clocks should always be positioned close to a wall using one or more nails. Depending on the size of the watch and its weight, more resistant supports such as pressure nails or metal brackets can also be used to better distribute the weight and avoid dangerous accidents.
The wall on which you choose to place a wall clock must be large enough to accommodate it adequately, resistant so as not to crack under the weight of large wall clocks, and in a position that is convenient to reach with your gaze.

A Wall Clock for every room
We have already said that wall clocks can be placed in all rooms of the house as long as you choose the right model for style and size. The first thing to consider when choosing a wall clock is the size of the room and the wall on which we intend to place it. The wall clock must be proportionate to space and surface on which it is to be placed.
If you think you can’t find the right wall clock for your home, no problem. The market offers a wide range, of every style and shape (square or rectangular). As for the style, you can find country or Provencal clocks, if your decor is typical of English houses. Or if you are romantic, choose the elegant shabby chic watches, very decorative, and give an extra touch to vertical furnishings.
On the other hand, if you are fond of unique design, you just have to opt for handcrafted, unique, and inimitable clocks, or antique, rustic, or ethnic ones, to make the most of the wall where the clock will be placed.
If the room is small or the wall on which you intend to place it is narrow – think of a column for example – you have to opt for a small wall clock. A practical, functional, and beautiful proposal are Umbra with its original asterisk-shaped watch made of stainless steel and nickel. With just 30 centimeters in diameter, it is the right solution to furnish a small space with style and character.
If, on the other hand, you intend to place the clock in a living room to bring out and enhance a large wall, then you will need an important clock. Definitely important and classy is the Genius model, with the visible gears and the skillful use of steel. The watch has a diameter of 45 centimeters and is equipped with a Saeko quartz movement.
Finally, the second element to consider when choosing a wall clock is the aesthetic aspect. In a room furnished in a classic style, you can choose wall clocks in wood silver, or brass, with themed decorations and inlays, or even the classic pendulum clocks. Very classic is the Iris 16 watch with a wooden frame, champagne-colored dial, and decorated with inlays. Sober and elegant, it is perfect for a retro-style living room.
In a house with a modern and contemporary style, modern or design wall clocks, with sober and minimal lines, are well suited. Very particular and with modern lines is the Blow up watch by Alessi. A design watch designed by the Campana brothers, brilliant Brazilian designers who wanted to play with the contrast between empty and full and with the apparently casual overlap of steel sticks.
